Founded by Linda Adimora, Batiqua specializes in stunning handmade throw pillows. As reflected in the company’s name, the decorative pillows are made using the Batik technique from Adimora’s birthplace of Zimbabwe. Batik is a technique wherein an artist applies a wax or flour paste to the fabric in the desired design. Once dry, the artist then goes in with dye or textile paints. Once everything is dried and baked, the wax or paste is scraped off to reveal the negative space design. The result? Beautiful, eco-friendly works of art to add a pop of colour and texture to your couches, chairs and beds!
