Meghan and Harry aren’t the only ones who can get married in a castle. You too can get hitched like a royal in one of Canada’s incredible storied structures. Who needs the paparazzi, anyway?
Rosewood Hotel Georgia: Vancouver, BC
With its ornate walls and detailed cornices, Rosewood Hotel Georgia‘s historical Spanish Ballroom is a stunning space to tie the knot. Plus, the minstrel’s balcony can be used for a dramatic throne speech or royal kiss by the bride and groom. FYI: Katharine Hepburn, Errol Flynn and Nat King Cole once bedded down at this iconic hotel that opened in 1927.
Hatley Castle: Victoria, BC
This dreamy Edwardian estate – that could double as a Game of Thrones set – has majestic mountain views, ocean vistas and timeless stone walls. Say “I do” surrounded by symbols of substance and longevity. This beautiful building was designed by local architect Samuel Maclure and dates back to 1908.
Pendray Inn and Tea House: Victoria, BC

Fairmont Banff Springs: Banff, AB
As if Banff wasn’t breathtaking enough, there goes the Fairmont Banff Springs showing off. The gorgeous heritage hotel, located in the Rocky Mountains of Banff National Park, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s been in the hospitality biz since 1925. Saying “I do,” here? Round up your favourite guests for a soak in the mineral-rich hot springs. Serenity now.
Lougheed House: Calgary, AB
With its ornate cornices and old-world photography, the romantic Mission Room inside Calgary’s Lougheed House is ideal for getting married. (You can’t go wrong with a golden glow that makes everyone’s skin look peachy fresh.) Lougheed House was once home to Senator James Alexander Lougheed, his wife and their six children. The sandstone mansion was constructed in 1891 and expanded in 1907.
Stone Hall Castle: Regina, SK
Ooh, this dusky scene is the stuff of gothic romance, what with the portraits and candles and fortified walls. Built in 1926 by Francis Nicholson Darke for his wife, Anne, Stone Hall Castle is your chance to get married medieval-style, sort of. Guest rooms are actually quite cushy, especially the honeymoon suite.
Manitoba Club: Winnipeg, MB
Sultry! Manitoba Club, the oldest private club in Western Canada (established in 1874), has hosted dignitaries past and present and now it can host you and your love for an indoor or outdoor ceremony. There are multiple rooms for romance and pretty grounds for photos.
When it comes time to dance, these top wedding songs of 2018 will keep everyone up on their feet.
Casa Loma: Toronto, ON
Toronto’s famous castle atop a hill is a magical spot to exchange nuptials. The glass pavilion offers a scenic view of both the lush gardens and Casa Loma‘s historic bones themselves that date back to 1911. The fully enclosed space also means rain won’t spoil the special day!
Kortright Centre for Conservation: Woodbridge, ON
will not only please your wedding photographer – so many picturesque backdrops – but also your nature-loving guests. Surrounded by acres of spectacular forest, the environmentally-minded centre isn’t historic, per se, but it feels like it fits on this list for its longstanding stewardship to Mother Earth.
Manoir Rouville-Campbell: Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC
Is this a picture-perfect postcard or what? Manoir Rouville-Campbell is a gem of Tudor-style architectural design, thanks to its second owner Thomas Edmund Campbell, and was listed among the world heritage by Unesco in 1977. #WeddingBraggingRights
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac: Quebec City, QC
Make like Scarlett O’Hara and sashay down the sweeping staircase at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Quebec City’s enchanting castle is surrounded by cobblestone streets, artifacts, sculptures and horse-drawn carriages. Hello, photo opportunities! Plus, the legendary castle was updated to the tune of $75 million in 2014, so it’s swanky if you’re planning a destination event with a wedding party.
Chateau Taillefer Lafon: Laval, QC
A vineyard with a stone chateau makes for a lovely wedding location. Fun fact: Chateau Taillefer Lafon is the first vineyard in Quebec authorized to use the term “Château,” otherwise reserved for European vineyards. The Taillefer family has been farming in Laval since the early nineteenth century, and now you can become part of its history.
The Algonquin Resort: St. Andrews-by-the-Sea, NB
A Maritime wedding by the ocean-scented air is magical, especially if you can pull it off at this historic seaside retreat. The Algonquin Resort boasts a spa and golf course, along with gorgeous outdoor spaces to spend your special day (like this rooftop beauty).
