Former Daily Show host and comedian Trevor Noah’s Manhattan penthouse was listed late in 2022 and sold for $9.5 million in 2023. The 3,600-square-foot Art Deco duplex apartment featured 15-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, three bedrooms, a home theatre, a 1,000-square-foot terrace and a heated plunge pool.

Cher’s former estate on La Gorce Island, a gated community in Miami Beach, was listed in 2023 and sold for $35.35 million. A 12,450-square-foot Spanish-style estate with six bedrooms, arched Mediterranean-style windows and a 50-foot resort-style swimming pool, the home also boasts 158 feet of unobstructed waterfront views.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s Former Hollywood Home

A Midcentury-style gem in the Hollywood Hills that once belonged to Emily Blunt and John Krasinski went up for sale this spring at a price tag of $6 million. Nestled on a cul-de-sac above Mulholland Drive, the 3,657-square-foot home was built in 1965 and the couple retained its unique charm during the updates. While it did not sell this year, you can rent it for $30,000 a month.

Rihanna Buys Matthew Perry’s Former Malibu Penthouse

Rihanna added another property to her portfolio in 2023 with the purchase of the Malibu penthouse that once belonged to Friends’ star Matthew Perry. Located on the 40th floor of The Century building, one of the most exclusive addresses in Los Angeles, the 9,290-square-foot condo sold to RiRi for $21 million, $6k less than Perry sold it for in 2021.

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s Miami Home

Before their split made headlines worldwide, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner sold their Miami home in August for $15 million. With 10,414 square feet of space, six bedrooms, nine bathrooms and its own 94-foot private dock, it was described as a tropical spin on a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired design.

Elton John’s Sprawling Condo in Atlanta

Sir Elton John offloaded his Atlanta, Georgia condo this year, the property that was his home base in the US for more than three decades. It started as a 2,500-square-foot duplex in the 1990s but the Rocket Man transformed it into a 13,500-square-foot, four-bedroom, seven-bath unit with a walk-in closet worthy of a superstar. The condo was listed for $4.9 million but sold in early November for $7.225 million, which was 45 per cent above the asking price.

Jim Carrey’s Magical Sanctuary Mansion

Located in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Brentwood, Jim Carrey’s 12,700-square-foot home officially hit the market this year. Referred to as a “magical sanctuary” by the Canadian-born star, it has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and impressive high-beam ceilings. Originally listed for $28.9 million, it was first reduced to $26.5 million and is now available for just under $24 million.

Walt Disney’s Former Fairy Tale Family Home

The former fairy tale home of Walt Disney and his family became available for lease this year and gave us a chance to take a look inside. The Disney family lived in the home — located in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles — from 1932 to 1950. With hand-painted murals, a screening room, a pool and a cottage-style children’s playhouse, you could rent it for $40,000 a month.

The Mansion Where Harry and Meghan Filmed Their Netflix Documentary

The Mediterranean-style Montecito mansion where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle filmed most of their Netflix documentary briefly hit the market at a price tag of over $33.5 million. At almost 14,000 square feet and featuring multiple terraces, two acres of lush grounds, a home theatre, pool, hot tub and even a chicken coop, the listing was removed in May.

The Show-Stopping Penthouse From Succession

Succession wrapped its final season in 2023 and one of its most notable filming locations hit the market this year. Appearing as the home of Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong), the 5,500-square-foot, three-level penthouse on 72nd Street near Central Park in New York has five bedrooms, a spa bathroom and panoramic views. Listed for $29 million, it finally sold for $24.7 million.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Former New Orleans Pad

While doing charity work in New Orleans, former power couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt purchased a 7,703-square-foot estate in the French Quarter for $3.5 million. With a main house that included an owner’s suite and four guest bedrooms, a guest house with an additional two bedrooms and a courtyard featuring a fountain and a pool, the Parisian-style property was listed for auction in late 2023 at a starting bid of $1 million.

Located in the Exumas archipelago, about 70 miles from Nassau, it has a 5,300-square-foot primary residence, four guest cottages and staff quarters, a seaplane dock, helipad and a deep-water superyacht dock.

Jackie Kennedy’s Former DC Home

An 18th century mansion that once belonged to former First Lady Jackie Kennedy went up for auction this year and is still available. Located in the Georgetown neighbourhood of Washington, DC, the home was purchased following the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy. The home, where Jackie and her children lived for a year, was later combined with two other homes to create a 16,300-square-foot compound.

Copper Beech Farm, Historic US Waterfront Home

In a record-setting real estate deal this year, the historic waterfront home known as Copper Beech Farm sold for an unbelievable $138 million back in the summer. Built in 1898, the 50-plus acre property, located on a peninsula in Greenwich, Connecticut, was once the most expensive home in the United States and owned by one of the richest people in the world at the time, industrialist George Lauder of the Carnegie Steel Company.
